Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all services provided by Chauhans (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By placing an order or using our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

These Terms comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.

2. Services Provided

We provide tailoring services including, but not limited to:

  • Clothing alterations and repairs
  • Bespoke and made-to-measure garments
  • Fittings and consultations

All services are subject to availability and acceptance.

3. Orders and Acceptance

  • Orders are confirmed once agreed verbally, in writing, or via digital communication
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all details are correct before confirmation
  • Once confirmed, orders constitute a binding agreement

We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.

4. Measurements and Accuracy

  • Measurements taken by Chauhans will be carried out with reasonable care and skill
  • Where measurements are provided by the customer, we accept no liability for inaccuracies
  • Customers are responsible for attending all required fittings

5. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are agreed before work begins
  • A deposit may be required prior to commencement
  • Full payment is due upon completion or collection

We reserve the right to revise pricing if the scope of work changes.

6. Timeframes

  • Estimated completion times are provided as guidance only
  • Services will be completed within a reasonable time unless otherwise agreed
  • Delays may occur due to complexity, fabric issues, or unforeseen circumstances

7. Fittings and Approvals

  • Customers may be required to attend one or more fittings
  • Approval at fitting or collection confirms acceptance of the work. For courier deliveries, the work is deemed accepted if no issue is reported within 24 hours of confirmed delivery.
  • Further changes after approval may incur additional charges

8. Cancellations

  • Orders may be cancelled before work begins, subject to potential administrative charges
  • Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced

9. Fabric Handling and Preparation

We may apply standard preparation processes to garments, including light fabric treatment for hygiene and quality purposes.

This may result in minor and temporary effects such as scent or light creasing.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability where damage is caused due to lack of reasonable care and skill.

10. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and instructions
  • Attend fittings where required
  • Inspect garments upon collection

Failure to do so may affect available remedies.

11. Faulty Service

We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill.

If we fail to do so, you are entitled to:

  • A repeat service, or
  • A price reduction or refund where appropriate

12. Liability

We are not liable for damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Incorrect care or washing
  • Third-party alterations
  • Fabric defects where material is supplied by the customer

Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

13. Ownership and Collection

  • Completed garments must be collected within a reasonable time
  • We reserve the right to charge storage fees for uncollected items
  • Items left uncollected for more than 14 days may be listed for sale on eBay or on our website to recover costs.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
